Rebellion and Teenage Anthems

Some popular movies incorporate music from popular artists. Think back to the 1999 popular teenage film American Pie, the 1998 Can’t Hardly Wait film or even the bubble gum 2006 gymnastics movie Stick It. These popular comedy movies  incorporated songs frm artists such as Blink 182, Sugar Ray and Fat Boy Slim. These movies immortalized songs such as Anthem Part Two and Rockafeller Skank, becoming cornerstones in the teenage music scene.

There are tons of other popular movies that incorporate songs from bands like Blink 182, think back to those other movies like Spider-Man that had music from the band Sum41, who have suddenly vanished from the music scene for now.Or even the band New Found Glory, who was also featured in the American Pie series soundtrack, specifically American Wedding.

These bands present songs of rebellion in a fun upbeat manner, incorporating themes of taking down corporate leaders and politicans. It is pretty interesting the subject manner these bands have incorporated into their songs and the scenes they are used in. For instance in the film Stick It, the Blink 182 song Anthem Part Two is played during a scene in which the gymnasts fight against the judging system that is placed and implemented against these gymnasts who strive for perfection. It is fitting being that after the first gymnast successfully alnds one of the harder tricks gets docked points for something so meaningless the rest decide to stop such unfair judging by sticking it to the judges.

American Pie, a popular comedy with some many teenagers with the awkwardness that follows us through those crucial social years and how to deal with them, sort of. Or even the struggles of graduating high school and all the implications that follow such a monumental moment. By incorporating such teenager like angst songs they get the point across and help explain the typical 90s teenager in all of us.

So besides your typical rebellion angsty teenager songs Blink 182 has had other successful songs think back to I miss you, that is a great song it even incorporates a film reference, specifically The Nightmare Before Christmas. The other love-like song that Blink 182 is known for First Date, used in a lot of movies to explain the anxiousness that exists in  with the first date of any teenager. All in all Blink 182 has some popular songs that go with popular movies making them even better.
